Strada Interiors – Laura Strada and Sara Heras

The interior design project for Dr. Lorena Montes’ dental clinic began with the challenge of working with a rectangular space lacking architectural character. From the very beginning, our proposal aimed to give the space a strong identity and warmth, using a fluid layout and emphasizing organic and curved shapes.

To soften the linearity of the space, we incorporated sinuous lines in the circulation design and key programmatic elements. The two waiting areas, for example, are defined by vertical wooden slats that form a circular, enveloping shape—subtly separating the spaces both visually and functionally. The main reception desk, with its curved layout, extends to the side and transforms into a continuous bench, blending functionality and design in a single architectural gesture.

The curved language continues in the textures that wrap around the reception desk and also around a structural pillar in the central corridor, which helps visually shorten the hallway and adds a dynamic rhythm to the space. This shape is repeated in the doors of the treatment rooms as well as in the entrances to the radiology area. In this zone, both the waiting bench and the computer work counter follow the same organic lines that define the overall design concept.

The arch, used as an iconic feature, appears at the main entrance wall—framing the backlit sign—and on the adjacent wall next to the waiting area, where we placed a vertical garden that brings freshness and a visual connection with nature.

Curved and circular forms are also present in the glass access panels and the exterior signage graphics, reinforcing a consistent and distinctive identity. For materials, we chose cement-effect ceramic flooring for the high-traffic areas and transitioned to wooden flooring in the treatment rooms and waiting spaces, creating a warmer and more welcoming atmosphere.

The color palette is based on bright whites, combined with various shades of green—from deep bottle green to mint—along with touches of turquoise that reflect the clinic’s brand identity and convey freshness, hygiene, and well-being.
